Father Dowling Mysteries: The Third and Final Season

Love the series...Not this $eason$ price!!!
Purchased the previous seasons and had planned on getting the final season but am so dismayed at the much higher price!! What's up with that? You can pre-order purchase in March 2013 ALL 3 SEASONS TOGETHER from an Amazon competitor for $51.98! Guess one should no longer purchase the separate seasons anymore and just wait around & hope the whole series is released? Look at what the single previous seasons are now selling for!! If you just can not be patient, do yourself a favor & be sure you shop around and price check as there are better prices at some of Amazons competitors. Guess I will just be patient & hope I can pick this up down the road.

These studios and merchants are insulting their most loyal followers who wanted to make sure they were able to collect each season of favorite old shows. If no one bought the single seasons the studios probably wouldn't bother to put the rest of the seasons out since they would feel there wasn't a profitable interest in the series so...

The Finest Hour
Tracy Nelson and Tom Bosley reunite for the last time as a priest and a lock-picking nun duo to uncover continual conundrums in their small Chicago town. Mary Wickes returns.

A family-oriented show, Father Dowling Mysteries season three, is a great addition to any mystery buff's DVD collection. This five-disc box set contains all 22-epsiodes of one of America's favorite cozy detective series. On March 12, 2013 fans of this short-lived series will be treated to one of the best well-acted and written shows in TV history, alongside another wonderful, classic series, Murder She Wrote.

Even in its final goodbyes, many of the episodes in Father Dowling Mysteries proved to be the finest hour in its three-year run. That said, many mystery fans enjoy their whodunits set amid the holidays. One of the highlights of season three is episode ten, "The Christmas Mystery", where Sister Steve involves herself with a killer posing as Saint Nick. And in "The Hard Boiled Mystery,"...

So expensive!
I pre-ordered the first two seasons of Father Dowling as soon as they became available. I have been anticipating the release of Season 3. However, I was shocked at the price for this final season! For less than double the episodes of Season 2, consumers must pay over two times the cost of Season 2. I am very disappointed and will continue to hope that the price will go down soon. Otherwise, I will have to wait to complete my collection of one of my favorite shows.

Follow up: The price went down $15 after six months, which was much more reasonable and so I ordered it. The set is five discs of Father Dowling fun. It includes both my favorite and least favorite episodes of the series. It also includes several that I never remembered seeing before, which was great to experience. I'm thrilled to now own the entire series!
